Her community contributions include serving as Treasurer for the Lewis County Bar Association, a founding member of the Lewis County Emerging Professionals, and a board member for the T.F. Wright Foundation.Lydia’s active involvement extends to the Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce and numerous other organizations that enhance the lives of her neighbors and friends.

Judge Lydia Young brings a wealth of legal experience to her role as a candidate for New York Supreme Court Justice. Over the past decade, she has represented clients in diverse legal matters, including matrimonial law, child custody, evictions, and adoptions. As the managing partner of Young Law Office and an advocate with the Lewis Defenders, she has demonstrated a commitment to justice for individuals from all walks of life, including indigent populations.
Since 2019, Lydia has served as Champion Town Justice, presiding over a variety of civil and criminal cases. Her judicial work has equipped her with a deep understanding of legal complexities and the temperament necessary to ensure fairness and efficiency in every case she oversees.

Lydia’s dedication to service is matched by her love for her family and the North Country. She resides in Carthage with her husband and their two children. In addition to her professional achievements, Lydia is a valedictorian, an alumna of SUNY Geneseo, and a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law. Her journey reflects her belief in hard work, fairness, and community-driven progress, values she carries into her pursuit of justice.
